As Veteran’s Day approaches, it gives us an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices that have been made over the years by the men and women that have worked tirelessly to keep our country safe. 


When a “thank you” doesn’t seem like quite enough, and you’d like to do more, consider donating to one of these seven organizations that support veterans.

Soldiers on Single Track

  • Location: Oakridge, Oregon
  • Their Mission: Vets helping vets excel in Downhill Mountain Biking to re-acclimate to civilian life & improve morale through group rides, clinics, racing, & sponsor support.

Veteran Overland Foundation, Inc 

  • Location: Portland, Oregon
  • Their Mission: Veteran Overland is a 501(c)(3) focused on improving Veterans' lives through the proven healing power of connection, the positive mental perspective of the outdoors and the need for post-service skill building though Overlanding ⁠

Warriors Weekend

  • Location: Victoria, Texas
  • Their Mission: Founded in 2007, Warrior’s Weekend is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 Corporation dedicated to the support of veterans of The United States of America with an emphasis on those wounded in The Global War on Terrorism. This is accomplished through holding an annual fishing event for wounded military personnel in May in Port O’Connor, Texas as well as donations to veterans and veterans-based causes.

Project Healing Waters

  • Location: Maryland
  • Their Mission: Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings.

    • Their mission: The mission of Honor Flight is to celebrate America’s veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at  our nation's memorials.

    • Location: Ponte Vedra, Florida
    • Their Mission: “Determined to end veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma.”

    Helping a Hero

    • Location: Hourston, Texas – serving Vets around the country
    • Their Mission: “Helping a Hero is a 501(c)(3) non profit, non-partisan organization, founded in 2006, that provides support for military personnel severely injured in the Global war on terror. Our principal activity is to provide specially adapted homes for qualifying service members through partnerships made with the builders, developers, communities, and the veteran. Helping a Hero strives to engage the community in providing services and resources for our wounded heroes and their families. Additionally, Helping a Hero provides support programs including marriage retreats, caregiver retreats, recreational activities, family get togethers, and financial support for emergency needs.
